Every painting and photograph I make starts with an emotional connection or reaction. It could be joy, or shock, awe, amusement, anger, a sense of contrast or oddity. The colors and techniques I use stem from these feelings, and also, an intent to depict the beauty I see in sorrow, pain, challenge, anger, decay, as well as in happiness and the everyday.
